hard to stick to

Post  losin it on Sun Jul 18, 2010 11:22 am

HI, I am Lisa 41 years old. Had a baby almost 2 years ago and carrying around a fair bit of tummy fat. Found out my cholesterol was high and started cutting out a lot of foods. This coincided with finding out about the Dukan Diet so began eating from that. It has been a month or so since I started and I have lost about 7-8kg. I am just finding it hard to stick to every day and tend to break it somehow regularly. I am not eating sweets or 'bad' things like cakes or carbs etc but just little things. I still want to lose about 3 kg.

Hi Lisa. 7-8 kilos in a short time is really good. I've lost 9.4kg in the last 6 weeks but I still have 23 to lose. Stick with it. Your last 3 kg will be gone in no time Smile

LInda Thank you so much for the extra motivation and encouragement. I got some bad news during the week and then had a daughter's birthday so lots of temptations and triggers - but I have discovered that eating bread and pasta really bloats me so it's so much better I stay off that stuff. 9.4 kg is huge to lose! congratulations. I feel a bit 'bad' because I haven't really moved on from the attack phase and I am probably doing it all wrong but I don't have the book! I am also eating vegies occasionally but I keep slipping off the wagon so I stay trying on the attack! What phase are you on right now? Wink

I'm on Cruise. The book recommends 10 days on Attack as the maximum, with most people doing less than that. On Cruise, I am doing 1 day of protein and low fat dairy with low carb vegetables (no potatoes, corn, peas), followed by one day of protein and low fat dairy without the vegetables. My weight often goes up on the alternate days with vegetables but down on the all protein and dairy days.

If you don't have the book, google dukan diet, dukan diet attack and dukan diet cruise. Read a lot. I couldn't get the book straight away either but there is so much information out there from excited and successful Dukan dieters, that you don't have to guess. There are also several groups on Facebook that have a lot more support than this one, with people sharing their experiences every day. We need the support. Not everyone can pay for coaching. I certainly can't, but the diet is working anyway with help from others. Dr Dukan says in his book that the diet has gone beyond him and belongs to the people of the world using it. He truly deserves to make a lot of money for his life's work but for those of us who can't contribute beyond buying a book, there is still lots of peer support out there.

Thanks Linda. I appreciate your information. I also eat the low fat dairy but I have found it best to stay off wheat and bread products so for me, I probably wont go back to that. Thanks again Smile
