Hi everyone

Post  Caz on Tue Apr 27, 2010 10:06 am

Hi I'm Carol and I've been following the facebook wall discussing the diet.
I'm hoping to lose about a stone which is hard for me as my metabolism is completely shot after years of taking steroids. I've tried many other diets and failed miserably and so having read the Mail articles started with renewed determination last Thursday. I've lost 3lb already(yipeeeeee!!) and this is the first time I've dieted and not felt constantly starving!
Good luck to all of you.

Hi Caz,

The miracle in this diet is that there's no limitations in quantity, you don't really have to count what you eat and when. You already saw by yourself that if you follow the rules of the Dukan diet, your weight loss will be successful.

I wish you good luck in your achievement, and welcome to this board!

The best thing is the lack of hunger or food-cravings.

Good luck!

Hey Carol,

I'm also dealing with a shot metabolism after a year of hormone medication. Boo!

But having real success with this plan, and actually often too full to finish my food. You can do it! *pom poms*

Thanks for your good wishes. Am sticking with it and finding it very easy to do, my weight loss has slowed but that is to be expected. I'm doing a day pp and a day pv as I think its the way that'll suit me best. Hope you all get on really well with it too!

We've decided to do a modified PV the whole way through - PP all day, then an extremely low-glycemic veg like lettuce, pepper or cucumbers with dinner. The occasional tomato paste (no salt, no sugar) as a protein flavoring. Seems to be working really well for us so far, and I think the little bit of extra veg helps keep us energetic enough to exercise a lot.

Good luck! Smile

Its great that it can be modified a bit and i'm going to stick with what I'm doing for the time being. Another 1/2lb off so I'm really pleased.

Great news!

I dropped another pound last night - and we had wine with dinner, too! Smile

Woohoo, Very Happy thats great Miss G you must be delighted. Have you been on the dukan for long? Its a week today for me and I'm not finding it difficult at all.

I'm a bit worried about the weekend as I'm going away for a couple of days. My son is in a football tournament so all the kids and parents are going. There will be lots of eating out and drinking I expect so it'll be a real test for me. I'm taking my ingredients for my pancakes with me and lots of low fat yoghurt so I'll try and be good!

Hi Caz!

Actually this is our 1 week anniversary. It's effortless really, especially since we skipped attack and went straight to PV. I am really thrilled! A few months ago we did a similar diet (I called it the "meat fast" ha ha) where all we ate was protein and fat (our bodybuilder nutritionist recommended it so I could lose some weight for an event). I lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks, but I reallllly missed vegetables and I didn't really like to be eating so much fat (we ate mostly good fats like avocados and nuts, but still!).

This is perfect, and I can have all the salad I want, hurrah! Smile
